The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) has launched its Oil and Gas Field Readiness Training Program a nationwide initiative to train over 10,000 Nigerians in high-demand technical and professional skills needed for the growing oil and gas industry.
This fully sponsored program prepares participants for real job opportunities created by new investments and projects in Nigeria’s energy sector.

The Nigerian oil and gas industry is seeing a surge in investment, with billions of dollars flowing into new projects.
To ensure local talent is ready to fill skilled roles, the NCDMB initiative focuses on bridging existing skills gaps by offering practical training aligned with industry needs. The programme is backed by the Nigerian Oil and Gas Industry Content Development (NOGICD) Act, which prioritises training and employment for Nigerians.

Participants can choose up to three high-impact skill areas from the programme, including:

Who Can Apply (Eligibility)
To join the Field Readiness Program, you must:
✔ Be a Nigerian citizen under 35 years old
✔ Have at least OND, HND, or BSc in relevant fields such as:
• Petroleum Engineering
• Mechanical, Electrical or Civil Engineering
• Gas, Welding, Metallurgy
• Geology or Geophysics
• Computer Sciences/Engineering or related science disciplines
Training Structure & Support
The programme runs for two to three years and combines:
📌 Classroom instruction for theory and fundamentals
📌 Laboratory/workshop practicals to build hands-on skills
📌 Skills certification aligned with industry standards
📌 At least six months of on-the-job training (OJT) with partnered service companies
Participants also receive:
Monthly stipends
Pre-mobilization medical checks

Personal protective equipment (PPE)
