The Africa–Europe Digital Innovation Bridge (AEDIB) Joint Innovation Facility (JIF) 2026 is now open for applications. This strategic funding initiative supports Africa–Europe consortia working to scale commercially viable, digitally enabled solutions with measurable climate-positive impact. (innovationbridge.info)

🌍 What Is the JIF?

The Joint Innovation Facility is a funding and collaboration mechanism under the AEDIB programme, aligned with the EU Global Gateway Africa–Europe Investment Package. It was created to accelerate cross-border scaling of proven digital innovations, deepen Africa–Europe partnerships, and amplify climate action through technology. (innovationbridge.info)

Rather than supporting early prototypes or experiments, JIF focuses on solutions that are already revenue-generating and ready to grow into new markets — especially across Africa and Europe. (innovationbridge.info)

💡 Who Should Apply?

Eligible applicants must form cross-border consortia that:

  • Are led by an African organisation based in one of the 14 priority African countries:
    Benin, Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), Ghana, Côte d’Ivoire, Kenya, Mozambique, Namibia, Nigeria, Rwanda, Senegal, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda, or Zambia. (innovationbridge.info)

  • Include at least one European partner based in an EU Member State. (innovationbridge.info)

  • Propose a digitally enabled, commercially viable solution that is already generating revenue or clearly ready for cross-border scaling. (innovationbridge.info)

  • Demonstrate a measurable climate-positive impact, via mitigation, adaptation, or resilience outcomes. (innovationbridge.info)

Consortium members may include for-profit companies, innovation hubs, entrepreneurship support organisations, research institutions, technology providers, and relevant non-profits. (Opportunities for Youth)

💰 What the Funding Offers

Selected teams will receive:

  • Non-dilutive funding of €100,000 or €200,000 to support scaling efforts, product development, market validation, and partnership expansion — without giving up equity. (innovationbridge.info)

  • Tailored support via the JIF Venture Studio, including mentorship, technical advisory, investment readiness guidance, and access to Africa–Europe innovation networks. (innovationbridge.info)

  • Strategic visibility within digital transformation and climate innovation ecosystems across both continents. (innovationbridge.info)
