NACCIMA Opens Applications for $150 Million Offshore Financing Facility for Nigerian Businesses

NACCIMA Opens Applications for $150 Million Offshore Financing Facility for Nigerian Businesses

The Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA) has opened access to a $150 million offshore expansion financing facility designed to provide eligible Nigerian businesses with long-term funding for expansion, investment and growth.

The facility, known as the ODDO BHF SE Offshore Expansion Financing Facility, is being facilitated through NACCIMA as part of efforts to improve access to international capital for businesses operating in Nigeria.

NACCIMA unveiled a secure digital application portal for the facility during the Nigeria Infrastructure Conference (INFRACON 2026). The initiative is intended to make it easier for qualified businesses to originate and submit financing applications digitally. (The Economy NG)

Long-term capital for business expansion

The financing initiative comes at a time when access to affordable, long-term capital remains a major challenge for Nigerian businesses. Companies seeking to expand production, invest in infrastructure, acquire equipment, develop new projects or increase their operational capacity often face difficulties obtaining financing with suitable repayment structures.

According to reports on the facility, the $150 million programme is focused on offshore investment financing, potentially creating an alternative channel through which qualifying Nigerian companies can access international capital for expansion projects. (The Economy NG)

The initiative also aligns with NACCIMA's broader role in promoting investment, trade, business development and improved access to finance for the Nigerian private sector. NACCIMA identifies investment opportunities and access to financial institutions and investors as part of its support for businesses. (NACCIMA)

Who could benefit?

The facility is expected to be particularly relevant to established Nigerian businesses and companies with credible expansion or investment projects that require substantial long-term financing.

Potential applicants may include businesses operating in areas such as:

  • Manufacturing and industrial production

  • Infrastructure and construction

  • Agriculture and agro-processing

  • Energy and related projects

  • Technology and digital infrastructure

  • Logistics and transportation

  • Export-oriented businesses

  • Large-scale commercial and investment projects

However, businesses should confirm the official eligibility requirements, financing terms and documentation requirements directly through NACCIMA's official application process before submitting an application.

Digital application process

One of the notable aspects of the programme is the introduction of a secure digital e-Portal for applications. NACCIMA says the portal forms part of its effort to digitise foreign investment origination and provide businesses with a structured route for accessing the financing facility. (The Economy NG)

The portal was presented during INFRACON 2026, a conference that brought together policymakers, investors, development finance institutions, regulators and private-sector stakeholders to discuss ways of mobilising long-term capital for Nigeria's infrastructure and economic development. (The Guardian Nigeria)

Why the facility matters

The availability of long-term offshore financing could provide an important opportunity for businesses that have viable expansion plans but require capital beyond what conventional domestic financing can comfortably provide.

For Nigerian manufacturers, infrastructure companies, exporters and other growth-oriented businesses, access to international financing could support:

Expansion: Companies could potentially increase production capacity, establish new facilities or enter new markets.

Equipment investment: Long-term financing can be particularly important for businesses that need expensive machinery and productive assets.

Infrastructure development: Businesses involved in major infrastructure projects require substantial capital over extended periods.

Job creation: Expansion of productive businesses can increase demand for workers and supporting services.

Foreign investment mobilisation: The programme could help strengthen connections between Nigerian businesses and international sources of capital.

Businesses urged to conduct due diligence

While the announcement represents a potentially significant financing opportunity, businesses should not assume that the $150 million represents a grant or automatic funding for every applicant.

Applicants should carefully review the financing structure, eligibility criteria, interest or financing costs, tenor, collateral or security requirements, repayment obligations, fees and approval conditions before committing to the programme.

Businesses should also use only verified NACCIMA channels when submitting applications and avoid paying unofficial individuals or agents claiming they can guarantee approval.

A potential boost for Nigeria's private sector

The NACCIMA initiative comes amid broader efforts to attract private capital into Nigeria's infrastructure and productive sectors. At INFRACON 2026, NACCIMA highlighted the need for stronger public-private partnerships, policy reforms and innovative financing mechanisms to address the country's infrastructure investment needs. (The Guardian Nigeria)

For Nigerian businesses with strong projects, sound financial records and credible expansion plans, the offshore financing facility could provide an additional avenue for accessing the capital required to scale operations.

Interested businesses should monitor NACCIMA's official communications and application portal for the latest eligibility requirements, application procedures and deadlines.
