Training programmes, scholarships and innovation initiatives are creating new pathways for Nigerians to develop digital skills

Nigeria’s technology ecosystem continues to expand, creating new opportunities for students, young professionals, entrepreneurs and aspiring technology workers interested in Artificial Intelligence (AI), software development, data, digital skills and innovation.

AI and Machine Learning training

The Association for the Advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AAAI) Nigeria Chapter is also promoting AI and Machine Learning development in Nigeria.

Its current programme calendar lists AI & ML Training 2026 for senior secondary school students, scheduled for August 1–21, 2026. AAAI Nigeria says its broader mission includes supporting the responsible growth and application of artificial intelligence across Nigeria. (AAAI Nigeria)

The organisation's activities demonstrate the increasing emphasis being placed on introducing younger learners to AI and emerging technologies.

Technology scholarships and skills development

Digital-skills scholarships are also providing another pathway for Nigerians who may not otherwise be able to afford technology training.
