From Skills to Systems: What’s Changing? Modern vocational reforms focus on building complete skills ecosystems . Instead of ending at certification, TVET programs now include: Pedagogy and assessment training for outstanding graduates Industry-to-classroom bridges that recognize workplace experience as a teaching asset National Skills Qualification (NSQ/NVQ) frameworks that formalize teaching pathways Continuous professional development (CPD) for instructor...

The Rise of AI and the Looming Crisis of Human Cognitive Extinction

Written by; Moses O. Igharo  In recent decades, artificial intelligence has evolved from a distant scientific dream to an integral part of everyday life. AI algorithms now drive everything from search engines and personal assistants to medical diagnostics and autonomous vehicles. This rapid rise brings unparalleled convenience and power but also ignites a profound existential question: Is humanity on the path toward cognitive extinction? The Risk of Cognitive Atrophy in the Age of AI The human brain, a marvel of evolution, thrives on challenge, problem-solving, creativity, and learning. Historically, our survival and progress depended on these very faculties. However, as AI increasingly takes over tasks once requiring significant human effort—calculations, data analysis, navigation, even decision-making—there is a real risk that our brains may begin to atrophy from disuse. Think of it like a muscle: if we stop exercising our critical thinking and problem-solving skills because mach...

World Humanitarian Day 2025 Speech. By Moses O. Igharo

Chairman; Ogbemudia Rural Care Foundation. Distinguished guests, fellow humanitarians, and all citizens of the world, Today, on the 19th of August, we come together to observe World Humanitarian Day — a day dedicated to honoring the courage, compassion, and commitment of those who work tirelessly to alleviate suffering and restore hope to millions across the globe. Yet, as we pay tribute to these heroes, we must also confront an uncomfortable truth. In a world blessed with abundant resources, unparalleled technology, and boundless human potential, too many still live in the shadows of despair. War, famine, displacement, and injustice persist — and the humanitarian crises we face are growing ever more complex. It is not only a test of resources but a test of our collective conscience. I stand before you today not only to commend the relentless efforts of aid workers and volunteers but to admonish us all — leaders, communities, and individuals alike. We must ask ourselves: Why, in the 21...

Nigeria is like a skyscraper hastily built without proper planning, poor materials, and cheap labor, all overseen by greedy engineers who cared only about their own profit — not the wellbeing of the landlord or its occupants.

Written by,  Moses O Igharo  This skyscraper has a weak foundation and is riddled with cracks. The builders never intended to create a safe, lasting structure; their goal was to keep the building standing just enough to continue extracting wealth from the landlord and the people inside, regardless of the suffering it causes. Instead of tearing down this unsafe building and rebuilding it properly with solid foundations, expert design, and local professionals who understand its needs, the landlord has been advised only to keep pouring money into cosmetic repairs every few years. Billions are spent on paint, patchwork, and temporary fixes, while over 200 million occupants remain trapped inside, hoping these surface treatments will prevent collapse. The reality is grim. The building continues to deteriorate, and its collapse is inevitable. Yet, rather than facing this truth, the occupants are told to seek refuge in prayers and spiritual rituals, diverting attention from the struct...

Western Conspiracy Against Africa’s Food Sovereignty: GMOs, Traditional Seeds, and Health Hazards

Western Conspiracy Against Africa’s Food Sovereignty: GMOs, Traditional Seeds, and Health Hazards Written by: Moses O. Igharo Introduction: Africa, a continent blessed with vast arable lands, diverse climates, and rich agricultural heritage, has long been self-sufficient in food production. Traditional farming systems, passed down through generations, have sustained communities for centuries using indigenous seeds and ecological knowledge. However, over the past few decades, a subtle yet powerful shift has been occurring—a shift that many African farmers, activists, and scholars believe is no coincidence but a deliberate strategy by Western powers and corporations to undermine Africa’s food independence. At the heart of this shift lies the aggressive promotion of genetically modified organisms (GMOs), the displacement of traditional seed systems, and an increasing dependency on foreign agro-corporations. This article explores the dimensions of this perceived conspiracy, its implication...
