NDDC Local Master’s Postgraduate Scholarship 2025/2026

The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) is pleased to announce the Local Master’s Postgraduate Scholarship Programme for the 2025/2026 academic session. This initiative is part of NDDC’s ongoing commitment to human capital development within the Niger Delta region.

🎯 Objectives & Scope

🗺️ Eligible States

Open to indigenes of the nine Niger Delta states:

  • Abia, Akwa Ibom, Bayelsa, Cross River, Delta, Edo, Imo, Ondo, and Rivers (deroundtable.com)

🧑‍🎓 Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must:

Requirement Details
Original Hometown Must be an indigene of a Niger Delta state (deroundtable.com)
Age Limit ≤ 40 years old
Academic Qualifications At least Second Class Lower in Bachelor’s or HND (Upper Credit) or PGD
Admission Status Must hold provisional or full admission into an accredited Nigerian university for a Master’s degree
NYSC Certificate Full NYSC completion (discharge/exemption) required

Priority will be given to candidates in these disciplines:

  • Engineering

  • Environmental & Earth Sciences

A fully funded package provided to awardees includes:

  1. Online Application

  2. Required Documents (scan and upload):

    • Recent passport photograph

    • Local Government Identification Letter or state of origin certificate

    • Bachelor’s/HND/PGD certificates and transcripts

    • NYSC discharge/exemption certificate

  3. Shortlisting & Screening

    • Preliminary shortlisting based on academic records, LGA ID, and WASSCE/NECO results (opportunitiesforafricans.com).

    • Computer-Based Test (CBT): Shortlisted candidates will take it in centres across Akwa Ibom, Delta, and Rivers States. A minimum score of 70% is required to proceed (opportunitiesforafricans.com).

  4. Verification & Interview

    • Final stage includes oral interviews and verification via Local Government Areas and Community Development Committees (opportunitiesforafricans.com).
