Call for Applications: SMEs Conditional Grant Scheme Now Open to Empower Local Entrepreneurs and Community Builders

The Ogbemudia Rural Care Foundation is pleased to announce the official opening of the SMEs Conditional Grant Scheme (SCGS), a targeted funding opportunity designed to empower small business owners, women entrepreneurs, artisans, youth-led enterprises, and community-based organizations across Nigeria.

This initiative aligns with Ogbemudia's commitment to inclusive economic growth, sustainable community development, and grassroots empowerment through direct financial support, training, and business development services.

About the Conditional Grant

The  Ogbemudia  Rural Care Grant is  a non-repayable financial support awarded to qualified applicants who meet the outlined criteria and agree to certain developmental conditions. These conditions ensure accountability, skill development, and social return on investment.

Grant amounts range from ₦100,000 to ₦500,000 and are disbursed to support business expansion, skill acquisition, tools/equipment purchase, and community micro-projects.

Who Can Apply?

Eligible applicants include:

  • Women and youth entrepreneurs (18–45 years)

  • Artisans and vocational workers

  • Rural and urban small-scale traders

  • Startup founders and small business owners

  • Cooperative societies or clusters of informal sector workers

  • NGOs working in livelihood empowerment

Applicants must demonstrate commitment to economic self-reliance and community impact.

Conditions for Grant Disbursement

To ensure transparency and sustainability, selected beneficiaries must:

  1. Complete an approved business or vocational training by  SMEs/ partner institution or affiliate.

  2. Register their business with CAC (if not already registered).

  3. Submit a clear business or community project proposal with measurable goals.

  4. Participate in periodic monitoring, evaluation, and mentorship sessions.

  5. Use the grant solely for approved business or project purposes.

Failure to comply with these conditions may result in disqualification or revocation of funding.

  • Application Opens: July 4, 2025

  • Deadline: August 10, 2025

  • Screening & Interviews: August 15 – August 30, 2025

  • Final Selection & Disbursement: September 2025
