FG, IITA Launch Youth Agribusiness Land Trust Fund to Tackle Unemployment – How to Apply

The Federal Government of Nigeria, in partnership with the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA), has launched the Youth in Agribusiness Land Trust Fund (YALTF) to empower millions of young Nigerians through agriculture and reduce unemployment. (Nigerian NewsDirect)

The initiative, unveiled by the Federal Ministry of Youth Development, aims to provide young people with access to farmland, training, and business support so they can build sustainable agribusiness enterprises across the country. (Ministry of Information)

According to the Minister of Youth Development, the programme will also unlock agricultural land across 42 National Youth Development Centres and transform them into hubs for youth-led agribusiness and innovation. (Ministry of Information)

About the Youth Agribusiness Land Trust Fund (YALTF)

The Youth in Agribusiness Land Trust Fund is a national programme designed to:

  • Provide young Nigerians access to farmland for agricultural production

  • Offer training and mentorship in agribusiness

  • Support youth-led agricultural startups and enterprises

  • Promote food security and economic growth

  • Reduce youth unemployment in Nigeria
