ANOTHER THUMBS UP FOR TINUBU: 2 YEARS IN OFFICE

In a significant move to mark his second year in office, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has once again demonstrated his administration’s commitment to youth empowerment, skills development, and job creation. One of the latest policy announcements gaining widespread commendation is the introduction of a ₦45,000 monthly stipend for students attending technical colleges across Nigeria.

This bold initiative is a grant—not a loan. That means beneficiaries are not expected to pay back. It is a deliberate and strategic effort to encourage more young Nigerians to pursue technical and vocational education, which remains a crucial pathway to employment, entrepreneurship, and economic self-reliance.

President Tinubu stated that the goal is to attract more young people to technical colleges, equip them with hands-on skills, and empower them to start their own businesses or become gainfully employed both locally and internationally. This step aligns with the vision of building a productive, self-sufficient, and innovative Nigerian workforce.

Currently, Nigeria has 129 technical colleges spread across the country—a figure that pales in comparison to over 15,000 secondary schools. This disparity underscores the need to promote and expand technical and vocational education as a viable alternative to the conventional academic path.

By offering this stipend, the Federal Government hopes to:

  • Increase enrollment in technical colleges

  • Reduce youth unemployment

  • Encourage self-employment and MSME growth

  • Boost local production and reduce dependence on imported goods

  • Strengthen Nigeria’s human capital in critical sectors such as construction, automotive, manufacturing, ICT, agriculture, and more

This is more than a stipend; it is an investment in Nigeria’s future—a future built by skilled hands and innovative minds.

God bless President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Congratulations, Mr. President, on your 2 impactful years in office.
The journey continues…
👏🇳🇬
