*A MESSAGE TO GOVERNOR GODWIN OBASEKI*

_Dear Mr. Godwin Obaseki_

I hope this message finds a way to reach you, firstly I congratulate you on your inauguration to serve Edo people for a second term, It was indeed a tedious campaign, but all the same, Politics has come and it should also be let gone for the interest of all Edo people, I believe as a servant of the people, you will not sit down to allow the people who you serve to be oppressed and made to live under fear, it is as a a result of this, I write to you as the CSO of the state by virtue of been Governor

I won’t bore you with introducing myself considering the pressing issue which is far more important than introduction especially as it concerned the security and well being of Edo people 

Your excellency sir, I’ve found keen interest and important reason to address to you this open message, it has become very necessary to do this as Edo state which you govern is no longer conducive for people living in the state, myself inclusive. 

There’s a popular adage that  says, "a man does not sleep when his roof is on fire" sir I feel our case in Edo state has become the direct contrary of that popular adage, I respectfully say so sir because you were comfortable hosting party yesterday after your inauguration, I say so because you are still comfortable today attending  a summit organized by you to celebrate your inauguration, and you tagged it making Edo great again, sir Edo cannot be great if the people living in it are dying, as a matter of fact sir, sorry to say, Edo was greater than this. Please we need action and steps  by you to curtail and put an end to the cases of robbery and all sought of criminal activities that has become rampant in Edo state.

Your excellency, I bring this to your notice today because just yesterday alone while you were celebrating your swearing in for a second term, vehicles were snatched, broad daylight robbery took place while cult groups fought themselves , at the expense of the people going about their normal daily activities. 

To see that in a state where a  technocrat like yourself is Governor who  understands that it is the primary duty of  government to protect and secure the lives and properties of her citizens and also the importance of a peaceful atmosphere to enable business activities and the economy in general strive effectively, too bad that insecurity have been allowed to successfully strive especially within Benin metropolis bringing down so many businesses and so many lives lost while you enjoy a large inauguration reception with the best security we can ever imagine.

Sir, our state has become a den of robbers, where robbers harbor, plan and execute, where cultist meets, plan and execute, where kidnappers operates and move away with their victims, even as I write  now (6;40pm) there are sounds of gunshots around uwasota area in Benin, as reported by a resident around there, no one is investigating this.

Your excellency, yesterday at about 7pm it was disastrous at sapele road as the road even had to be blocked, a follower of mine had to navigate to use other road around PZ, behold people came shouting that they should turn back that robbers are ahead of the road, they all had to come down from the vehicle and ran for safety, it is as bad as that sir.

Even today sir, Upper sokponba road is a no go area, Ogida is characterize with killings, robbers attacks market and business owners at Santana market and Okabere at broad day light.

Sir, I am deeply sorry as some of us just can’t continue to keep our mouth shut while we live in fear

Those perpetuating this criminal acts doesn't care about PDP or APC, I plead, and passionately appeal to you to please do something about the state of insecurity that have become the order of the day in Edo state.
